Earth Element

>Earth is the element of Late Summer and is associated with the emotion of sympathy. Earth people have the ability to nourish like a mother can nourish a child.  Thus food and understanding are important. Sometimes an Earth person can feel a sense of emptiness or neediness in their own life.
The Earth Element ASSOCIATIONS OF THE EARTH ELEMENT IN NATURE:

Season: Late Summer (Harvest)
Power: Decrease
Period of: Abundance
Climate: Humidity
Direction: Centre
Planet: Saturn
Animals: Ox
Grains: Millet
Number: 5
Earth’s energy is circular. It ‘grounds’ us, nurtures us, gives us support and nourishment. Sympathy and understanding are the virtues of the Earth element. It is soft and caressing like a mother could be. It is solid and fundamental like the ground under our feet. It is fruitful and abundant like it’s time of the year – Late Summer.

People whose element is Earth are understanding and generous, although to be able to give and to nourish they first need to nurture themselves. Home and comfort mean a lot to them. They are relaxed and reflective, reassuring and calm, the ones we would go to if we needed a sympathy.

COOKING TIPS: No food will nourish you properly when this element is out of balance. Chew your food really well to absorb and assimilate the sweetness/goodness of your meals to aid digestive strength and regulate blood sugar levels. Use sweet, rounded earth coloured root vegetables such as: pumpkin, carrots and sweet potatoes. Include adzuki beans and millet.
